The South Texas Longhorn Association (STLA) is an affiliate of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America (TLBAA), and is comprised of people who love Texas Longhorn cattle. We have an annual membership meeting and sponsor several shows each year. A large part of what we do is support the youth who show Longhorn cattle and compete for college scholarships. We also conduct a number of ranch tours so that you can see how other ranchers operate and get some tips on what others are doing to help improve the breed, all while enjoying a day in the country with people who love Longhorn cattle .

Award-winning Trophy Steer, Buckshot 769, awes the crowds with his size and tremendous horns as he enters the show ring for the Non-Haltered competition during The Longhorn Show at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo on February 2nd.
(Buckshot is owned by STLA members John and Deedee Roberts of Austin)

If you have some great photos of Texas Longhorns—show photos, around the ranch photos, something sweet or something outrageous— send them to Suzanne Perry for possible inclusion on the STLA website. We are always looking for new and different photos depicting the enjoyment of Texas Longhorn cattle.

We invite you to join our organization and experience the excitement of this outstanding breed that is a part of Texas history and the American West. See our Membership page for more information on how you can join.
