Pettit's Help Secure New STLA Scholarships for 2009 from Central Life Sciences Company

New STLA members, Ian and Brenda Pettit of Mountain Home, Texas have played an instrumental role in securing two new college scholarships that will be awarded to qualifying graduating seniors for aid with their college education expenses. The announcement was made at the recent STLA Fall Field Day and two scholarships, each valued at $750 and donated by the Central Life Sciences Corporation, will be awarded through our association in Spring 2009. The STLA Scholarship Committee is currently developing the criteria involved for applicants for these awards.

Central Life Sciences Co. is the maker of the Altosid IGR © Feed Thru Fly-Control product for cattle and strives to provide educational funding and opportunities to young people involved with agricultural endeavors and fields of study. STLA is deeply appreciative of these donations and also the help from the Pettits to make this happen. STLA will work closely with CLS to ensure this becomes an ongoing program for both groups.

Look for more information about these two new scholarships soon in the scholarship section of this website. Also, see info there about our regular STLA Kids & Horns Scholarship and the STLA Breeders of Tomorrow Scholarship which are presented each May. Our regular sholarship program has been awarding scholarships to
qualified high-school seniors since 2007.
