Central Life Sciences will once again partner with the South Texas
Longhorn Association (STLA) to award educational scholarships to
2011 graduating high school seniors. This is the third
year that Central Life Sciences has joined with STLA to provide
scholarships to the youth of ranching families associated with Texas
Longhorn cattle. STLA established a permanent Youth Scholarship
Fund in 2006 and Central Life Sciences offered to help fund additional
scholarships through STLA beginning in 2008.
To be awarded in May 2011, this year's Central Life Sciences
Scholarships will include two (2) scholarships in the amount
of $750 each. The 2011 scholarship winners will
be selected from the pool of qualified applicants for the other
two 2011 STLA Youth Scholarships. No additional applications are
required. All rules and restrictions concerning the Kids & Horns
Scholarship and the Breeders of Tomorrow Scholarship will apply
for these CLS Scholarships.
Central Life Sciences/Altosid IGR Feed-Thru was first incorporated
in 1949 in Texas. Over the years, Altosid IGR Feed-Thru products
have helped cattle raisers keep their herds free from the misery
of biting horn flies. There are a number of cattle supplements containing
Altosid IGR Feed-Thru that may be administered on a free choice
basis. Altosid IGR Feed-Thru controls horn flies by interrupting
their life cycle, rather than through direct toxicity. The product
exhibits a wide margin of safety and delivers no acute handling
hazard by any exposure route. Altosid IGR Feed-Thru does not disrupt
cattle nutrition or dung composition during the digestive process
and does not harm any beneficial insects.
The South Texas Longhorn Association is grateful for the
continued support that is given to the STLA Youth Scholarship
Program by its members and other Texas Longhorn enthusiasts. We
are especially thankful for the continued partnership with Central
Life Sciences to add to our educational scholarship awards each
year.
Applications for STLA Scholarships will be accepted
beginning February 1, 2011 and must be returned (postmarked) to
STLA by April 15, 2011.
